This guy (Carlos Henriquez) was dancing 5 feet in front of me!
On the way home from the zumbathon, I used my last reserves of strength to grab groceries before collapsing into a nice hot bath. Next on the list was lounging on the couch with Jay, Sass and Little Man while enjoying some well-earned fajitas and ice cream, then laughing through America's Funniest Home Videos and You, Me and Dupree.
It was a perfect day and the next thing I knew, it was 9:30PM and I hadn't written the post I had planned for today's prompt at the We Work For Cheese February writing challenge. I'm not going to write it. I'm just going to sit here and keep smiling at my perfect day.
* * * *
Unless this counts? The prompt was "And the next thing I knew..."

I think this counts. It counts as a very clever way to write what you want to write and still use the prompt. I will have to remember this. :)
ReplyDeleteHurray! I wasn't going to write anything but I decided a little post was better than nothing.
DeleteOh, you're a cagey one, you are.
ReplyDeleteSneaky, sneaky.
DeleteSee? And that's the best part about "no rules" :)
ReplyDelete"No rules" always means a good time.
DeleteIn my book it counts :)
ReplyDeletedoes sound like a very nice day indeed!!!
betty
It was wonderful and so needed.
DeleteSometimes, playing hookey is truly needed. Outside of that 3 hours of Zumba. I can't imagine that's always needed.
ReplyDeleteZumba is always needed for me!
DeleteZoinks, that's a whole lot of exercise! Just a touch jealous. Glad you were able to have a perfect day. Not much beats watching AFV with your kids. That show induces tons of giggles around here.
ReplyDeleteJay loves AFV to the point that sometimes I get sick of it, but it is one of the few non-cartoon shows that is kid-friendly. That alone makes it tolerable, and it does make me laugh.
DeleteIt counts, if only because you actually have the stamina for 3 hours of Zumba! That's awesome!
ReplyDeleteIt was so much fun! I can't wait to do another one.
DeleteThat's right! Don't let this silly blogging challenge spoil your good time. You are not beholden to their rigid writing prompts, so just write whatever you want and...
ReplyDeleteOh, wait. I see what you did there. Okay, back to work I guess. What's today's prompt again?
LOL! Today is "friendship". I should probably write an actual post this time.
Delete3 hours of Zumba?? See I have the Zumba for Wii that I have yet to use because I only have one wiimote and apparently it takes both of them and a belt to put them in .. sighs..
ReplyDeleteThe energy of doing zumba in a group is so much fun. I've never tried Zumba for Wii, but I guess I would if I couldn't go to classes for some reason.
DeleteOk, after watching that video, there is no way I could do Zumba. Way too uncoordinated. Just this morning I walked into the doorway to the bedroom.
ReplyDeleteThe funny thing is that I'm a huge klutz - I walk into doors and walls all the time. Once one of my aerobics instructors (pre-zumba) mentioned how I was "so graceful," and I started laughing like a hyena. Little did she know.
DeleteMaybe if someone would choreograph my movements in daily life I'd be OK. I seem to have trouble with doing them freestyle.
Awesome day! I loved Gone Girl. When I picked it up over the summer I started reading it, and ended up staying up until 4am one night to finish it. It was that good. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI was actually in the middle of another book, but I've put it aside until I finish Gone Girl. I love her writing style - reading this book feels like eating gourmet truffles.
DeleteGreat day. OK I liked Gone Girl until the end. I won't say more but I'll be curious to see what you think.
ReplyDeleteI'll let you know when I get there! Now I'm torn between wanting to read faster to find out what happens, and wanting to read slowly to savour her delicious writing.
DeleteJulie, I am so biting my nails. The end. Perfect sentence. And I'll say no more either. Azara, you'll have to let us know what you think and I'd say savor it; there are times when her words/phraseology are positively magical. Wench.
DeleteThere are many books that I love, but this is one of the few where the author's writing style precisely matches how I wish I could write. Magical is right. It's the detail I love - all those succulent descriptions. Sparse prose bores me.
DeleteThree hours of Zumba? Holy crap, I'd be dead!
ReplyDeleteI regularly do two classes back to back, so the first two hours were fine. I started to get pretty tired in that last hour though.
DeleteOhhhhhhhhh.......I thought it was "We Brake For Cheese."
ReplyDeleteI didn't think that made much sense.
Well, cheese is important, you know. We should brake for it when we see it crossing the road. It's the humane thing to do.
DeleteThat is brilliant. Sounds like the perfect day. I loved Gone Girl, by the way. Ice cream, bath....now I am jealous!
ReplyDeleteI started reading it and didn't put it down until I was done. It was amazing! ;)
